Worker Center, AFL-CIO

The Worker Center was established by community and labor organizations.  The center's activities focus on retaining and expanding the base of high-wage jobs.  Programs include:

•  The King County Re-employment Support Center which assists companies and the community to mobilize services for dislocated workers.  Dislocated workers are connected with readjustment services and information on employment and training resources.

•  The Workforce Development Program assists unions develop new training programs for entry-level and incumbent workers that create/enhance career ladders and job security.

•  The Jobsite Apprentice Mentoring program provides onsite journeyman mentoring to groups of apprentices in similar trades.
