Workforce Development

BRED's workforce development goal is to train incumbent, dislocated and unskilled workers in the skills required by those industries that offer the best opportunities for employment and employee career advancement.

King County 's economic development policies (as found in the King County Comprehensive Plan) call for:

  • Job opportunities for all residents-placing emphasis on training low-income, low skill residents with livable wages;
  • Inclusion of public funding in large projects-ensuring that maximum benefit accrues to local businesses and workers;

Towards these ends, BRED manages the King County Apprenticeship Program.
