About the Chronic Public Inebriate Systems Solutions Workgroup

Chronic public inebriate, identity hidden You've seen the problem. I saw it for 17 years as a volunteer working on the streets of Seattle for Operation Nightwatch. I see it every day outside the County Courthouse.

But chronic public inebriety, or CPI, is not just a Seattle problem. Ask the police in our suburban cities and they'll tell you how much time they spend dealing with core groups of public inebriates.

By law King County is responsible for treatment and prevention of drug and alcohol abuse, but we also have a human responsibility. That's why I have personally convened this work group to find long-term solutions. The group includes human service providers, law enforcement, the business community, health care workers, and others.
