Adding up the numbers

graph showing decline of wild Puget Sound chinook salmon Historically, our streams and rivers seemed to have an infinite supply of salmon. Today, Northwest salmon have disappeared from over 40% of their historical breeding grounds. Most of this decline occurred between 1900 and 1960, but our current actions are keeping populations from rebounding. Salmon populations are hovering just above the point of extinction; we are at a critical point. (2 of 15)
