Dear King County Employees:
As of Nov. 1, 1999, all Benefits Eligible Employees of King County became
eligible to receive discounted services and special loan programs when purchasing and/or
refinancing their homes using the King County Home Ownership Program. Since that time
more than 200 King County employees have saved thousands of dollars in closing costs.
The King County Home Ownership Program was established to increase affordable housing opportunities within King County.
Through the program, King County employees can purchase homes anywhere within the boundaries
of King County, including homes needing rehabilitation as well as new constructions and existing
homes. Employees need not be first-time home buyers to participate.

A New Homeowner Tells Her Story
Dec. 21, 2000
Yesterday I became a proud homeowner thanks to the King County Home Ownership Program. I am writing this letter to you to let you know this program ran so smoothly, I could not believe it. This program is going to help a lot of King County employees fulfill their dreams of owning a home.
I am definitely someone who thought they wouldn't get a house any time soon, but First Horizon was a great help. After talking with three other mortgage companies first, First Horizon made me feel comfortable from the first conversation. Jim Myers of Windermere Reality was also great and worked really hard.
This is the type of program that truly benefits employees. There are several other ladies who work here with me who also went through the program successfully. I would refer anyone interested in buying a home to the program. I give First Horizon, Windermere Realty and King County "thumbs up" for creating this magnificent program. Thank you for making my dream a reality.
