Regional earthquake information resources

The Regional Public Information Network contains updates on emergencies, breaking news and regional services and programs from participating Puget Sound jurisdictions and organizations and can be found at www.govlink.org/news. This Web site provides the most up-to-date and comprehensive jurisdictional information on the February 28 earthquake. Information on road closures, obtaining emergency permits, building closures, health updates and transit information is updated continually.

Government agencies and organizations recognize the importance of working together to share information with the public. King County hosts the Web site and is joined by the following partners; American Red Cross, Auburn, Beaux Arts, Bellevue, Bothell, Duvall, Eastside Fire and Rescue, Federal Way Fire Department, Issaquah, Kenmore, Kent, King County, Lake Forest Park, Maple Valley, Mercer Island, Milton, Newcastle, North Bend, Pierce County, Port of Seattle, Redmond, Renton, Sammamish, SeaTac, Seattle, Seattle Fire Department, Snoqualmie, Tukwila, Washington Department of Transportation, Washington Emergency Management Division, Woodinville and Woodinville Water District.

Transit information on bus routes affected by the quake can be accessed at http://transit.metrokc.gov or by calling (206) 553-3000, (800) 542-7876, or TDD (206) 684-1739.

The Seattle-King County Chapter of the American Red Cross encourages people who want to volunteer to work on damage-assessment teams or in other recovery efforts to call (206) 323-2345 to receive training.
