Solid Waste Division offers free disposal of earthquake debris

Earthquake related debris from King County residents outside the City of Seattle will be accepted free of charge at all King County solid waste transfer facilities from Friday, March 2 through Sunday, March 4, 2001.

Please note the following:

» We cannot accept hazardous waste, material over eight feet in length, or appliances.

» All loads will be subject to inspection.

» Residents must bring proof of residency with them.

» Loads must be from residents and contain earthquake-related debris in order to be accepted at no charge. All commercial loads and loads from residents with non-earthquake related debris will be charged the regular fees.

» City of Seattle residents will be directed to Seattle transfer stations.

» We will provide additional recycling options for earthquake related debris at our facilities where feasible.
