Commuters urged to share a ride to work

Commuters saw Thursday morning how the loss of just a few regional arterials can disrupt the flow of traffic into the city, as more cars try to crowd into fewer alternate routes.

Besides taking the bus, King County Metro strongly urges commuters to use its regional Ridematch System to find carpool partners or vanpools to join. The system has more than 9,000 names of Puget Sound commuters who want to share a ride.

Commuters can do their own ridematching online at www.rideshareonline.com/ or by calling 1-800-427-8249.

For more information and options, e-mail Metro's Carpool/Vanpool Services at vanpool.information@metrokc.gov or call us at:
(206) 625-4500 or 1-800-427-8249.
