Buildings report

King County Courthouse
  • No structural problems identified.
  • Cosmetic damage is being cleaned up in public areas and stairwells (plaster, dust, etc.).
  • Non-structural fixes being completed over next weeks.
  • Stairwells and courtroom wall replacements.
  • 8 of 10 elevators confirmed operational.
  • Water and steam restored.
  • Department of Construction & Facilities Management (DCFM) crews working over weekend.

King County Administration Building
  • No structural problems identified.
  • Some non-structural damage (pictures, computers, bookcases etc.).
  • Asbestos survey completed and clearance to re-enter all floors.
  • 2 of 4 elevators operational (freight elevator requires attendant).
  • DCFM crews working over weekend.

Yesler Building
  • No structural problems identified.
  • 1 of 2 elevators operational.
  • Water restored.
  • Non-structural cosmetic work ongoing.
  • Asbestos survey completed and clearance to re-enter all floors.
  • DCFM crews working over weekend.
  • All floors open.

Outlying Buildings
  • Structural assessments completed; no problems identified in most buildings.
  • Visual inspections of Precinct 3, Maple Valley; Records warehouse indicate no problems. Structural assessments complete by Tuesday. Tashiro Kaplan Building assessment complete on Monday.

Detention and Treatment Facilities
  • Regional Justice Center (RJC): District Court operations normal — no disruptions.
  • Elevators cleared for operation.
  • Water leaks contained.
  • Some cosmetic damage.
  • Youth Services Center (YSC): All inspections passed; Alder Building gym closed for further assessment; Puget Sound Masonry waiting for permission to break off brick for further inspection.
  • King County Correctional Facility (KCCF): No structural problems identified; building systems functioning normally; cracks on walls determined to be non-structural in nature; 6th floor medical records structural survey completed and passed.
  • Skybridge: From King County Correctional Facility (KCCF) to Courthouse inspected & determined to be structurally safe.
  • Northend Rehabilitation Facility (NRF): No structural or finish damage due to earthquake observed.
  • Cedar Hills: No discernible structural damage attributable to earthquake.
  • DCFM crews working over weekend.
