Absentee ballots all distributed; Elections office open Saturday for assistance

King County election officials said today that all absentee ballots have been in the mail stream since Saturday, October 26, and that all voters requesting absentee ballots should have received them. If voters still have any concerns or have not received their ballots, there is still time to pick up a ballot in-person at the Elections office.

The Elections office will have special hours on Saturday, November 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Elections office is located in downtown Seattle in the King County Administration Building, 500 - 4th Avenue, Room 553, between 4th and 5th Avenues on James Street. Regular business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Ballots were delayed a few days this year after a court-ordered change to the ballot title for the Proposed Seattle Monorail Authority. Despite this, all ballots should be at voters' homes now.

If voters don't receive their absentee ballot or cannot pick one up in person, they can go to any polling place and vote a replacement absentee ballot on Election Day. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Absentee ballots must be post-marked by or on Election Day, November 5, in order to be valid. Voters can mail in their absentee ballot or drop them off at any polling place on Election Day.

For questions or further information, voters can call the Elections office, at 206-296-VOTE (8683).
