General Budget Advisory Task Force membership announced
King County Executive Ron Sims today announced membership of his General Budget Advisory Task Force, that was announced last month as Sims delivered his Executive Proposed 2003 Budget to the King County Council.
The General Budget Advisory Task Force will hold its first meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002. The Task Force expects to meet regularly over the next eight months and will present recommendations to the Executive in June 2003.
The Task Force will examine King County's Current Expense (CX) Fund, programs, policies, processes and budgets, and make recommendations regarding policy and operational changes that may provide appropriate additional cost savings, as well as the need, if any, for additional revenues in support of CX programs. This group will then make recommendations for the Executive's review and possible action next year.
Robert Wallace, CEO of Wallace Properties and John Warner, who recently retired from Boeing where he was Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, have agreed to co-chair this Task Force. The Task Force is comprised of various leaders with a wide variety of business, labor and legal backgrounds and experiences from around King County. A full list of task force members is attached.
"I am delighted by the composition of this task force," said Sims. "I am grateful to Bob and John for agreeing to co-chair the Task Force and to all the members for taking the time to support this effort and for helping us to continue to improve county government and its service delivery."
"I look forward to working with Executive Sims and the entire Task Force," said Bob Wallace, Task Force co-chair. "Each member brings a vision and business judgment that will add to the depth of this Task Force. It is heartening to see such an impressive group of leaders from our community so willing to volunteer to be a part of this effort."
"This will be a collaborative effort and I look forward to serving as co-chair with Bob," said John Warner, Task Force co-chair. "The work before us will be a challenge as we look for solutions and ways for King County government to continue to deliver services while facing a tight budget."
