King County, trail supporters to break ground on East Lake Sammamish Trail

King County Executive Ron Sims, regional leaders and trail supporters will gather at Laughing Jacob's Creek in Issaquah tomorrow morning, October 14, to officially break ground on construction of the scenic East Lake Sammamish Trail.

Interim trail construction this fall in Issaquah and Redmond will provide new opportunities for hiking and biking, open public access to scenic rail corridor, help connect King County's regional trail network and serve as a vital link in the regional transportation grid.

The East Lake Sammamish Trail groundbreaking event is scheduled:

Tuesday, October 14
9 a.m.
Laughing Jacob's Creek, Issaquah
Lake Sammamish State Park boat launch parking lot

Joining Executive Sims at the event are Issaquah Mayor Ava Frisinger, Redmond Mayor Rosemarie Ives, and former King County Councilmember Louise Miller.

Directions:
From Interstate 90
Take the Lake Sammamish State Park exit and turn left over the freeway. Continue ahead to the stoplight at East Lake Sammamish Parkway. Turn left and proceed north one mile to the Lake Sammamish State Park boat launch parking lot on the left. Meet near the trail.

From Redmond
Take the East Lake Sammamish Parkway to the Lake Sammamish State Park boat launch parking lot on the right.
