Fifteen families will have a place to call home when "The Willows" opens its doors to homeless women and their children in May. The new project, developed by Community Psychiatric Clinic, will provide housing, treatment and other services to help homeless mothers who have both a mental illness and drug or alcohol addiction. King County Executive Ron Sims will be the keynote speaker.
To celebrate the completion of the project, the community is invited to the grand opening and dedication celebration:

"The Willows gives homeless women access to housing and treatment services and supports so that they can get back on the road to recovery and build more stable and healthier lives for themselves and their children," said Executive Sims. "Working together, it is projects like the Willows that will help us achieve our goal of ending homelessness in King County."
King County's Housing Opportunity Fund provided just over $1 million to this housing project, joining nine other capital and service funders. Residents of the Willows can receive ongoing mental health and substance abuse treatment, parenting education, vocational training, daycare services, and other supports.
Tours of the facility and interviews with residents and community leaders are available.
