Avoid the traffic, conduct county business at local community service center
Seven centers provide services to unincorporated and rural areas
Need to purchase a marriage license or passport during the Interstate 5 construction between Aug. 10 and 29? Avoid Interstate 5 gridlock and visit one of King County’s seven Community Service Centers. The service centers are conveniently located throughout the county and make it easier to access vital county services outside the downtown Seattle area.
Community Service Centers offer marriage and pet licensing, domestic partnership registration forms, voter registration, concealed pistol license renewals, and general information about county services such as Metro schedules and King County job listings and applications. These centers also accept property tax payments and U.S. passport applications.
Community Service Centers have become an especially popular alternative for residents planning to travel abroad and in need of a U.S. passport. Since the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative took effect in January 2007, passport applications at centers have nearly doubled. The program processed 6,912 applications in all 2006 compared to 6,551 in the first six months of 2007.
