Executive Ron Sims' reaction to Sonics proposal
King County Executive Ron Sims today indicated support for a proposal to keep NBA basketball in Seattle.
"I am excited and supportive of the local ownership group that has stepped up and offered an innovative plan for keeping our region's NBA basketball hopes alive," said Executive Ron Sims. "There are several other causes critical to our quality of life that must be considered for inclusion in the revenues being looked at for this proposal, so I agree with the governor's approach of prioritizing and bundling several of the issues to provide the most comprehensive plan for our civic project funding needs. I look forward to working with the legislature and our County Council on giving the plan a thorough review."
