Work Release walk away arrested in California

Inmate Abdul S. Abdullah, a participant in the King County Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention Work Education Release (WER) program, who failed to return from work on May 28, 2008, has been arrested in San Bernardino, California.

Mr. Abdullah was arrested using the alias Aboul Abdullah-Ibin shortly after midnight on June 10th. Mr. Abdullah was stopped by the City of San Bernardino Police Department and arrested for outstanding warrants. He is currently incarcerated at the West Valley Detention Center in San Bernardino County. Mr. Abdullah was housed in WER on a charge of Rape in the Second Degree since February 13, 2008, participating in that program prior to his scheduled trial.

Mr. Abdullah will remain in California until the extradition process between the two states can occur. Local Law Enforcement agencies have been notified of his arrest.
