Frequently
Asked Questions
The
most commonly asked questions
are answered here. If your
question remains unanswered,
please contact
us.
Are there different
levels of participation?
There
is one primary level of participation,
which includes
data maintenance by the “data
owners.” However, for
many good reasons some agencies
may prefer to simply share
data, which we hope would include
keeping the TNET Consortium
updated on any data modifications,
so that King County Metro Transit
can perform timely maintenance
on the affected
dataset.
How accurate will the
geography be?
Global: ±10
feet relative to true geography.
Conformal: ±5 feet relative
to true shape.
What modes will
be available?
Vehicular, rail,
ferry, bicycle, pedestrian, and equestrian.
Will
TNET Consortium agencies have
to change their workflows
to maintain the transportation
network?
The TNET program was
specifically designed to minimize the impact
on workflows of participating
agencies. Agencies will have
to become familiar with ArcGIS
and a
custom attribute maintenance
application. Also, agencies
may find it necessary to maintain
a larger attribute dataset
than in the past.
What rules
will data maintainers have to follow?
The data maintenance
application was designed to give maintainers
the greatest freedom and minimum restrictions.
Coded value domains or valid values for
attributes have been incorporated, and
the project team has also developed a suite
of “best practices” that consortium
participants will be asked to follow. Please
see the Consortium
Guide Book and Best Practices to review
and comment.
Whom do I contact if
I have problems with the editing application
or the data?
The project team
will continue as program coordinators after
the system is deployed. Feel
free to contact
us.
