Landcover in KCSDW

The King County Spatial Data Warehouse (KCSDW) stores landcover data representing full-county single-class interpretations and multi-class themes. Generally these interpretations represent spectral classifications of both vegetative and urban landcover types. The data products have been developed through King County contract development as well as made available from external sources.

DataAccess

Not all data may available for release to the public or agencies and cities outside of King County government if it was originally obtained from an external source. Data may be made available, with restrictions, to consultants and other parties operating under contract or other formal agreement with King County.

For data that King County can release, the King County GIS Center, Client Services section, can assist you in selecting the correct data and format for your needs, and in providing a cost-estimate for data preparation and media delivery. The GIS Center can also assist you in contacting the original source or vendor for data that we cannot redistribute.

Reorganization of KCSDW image library

King County has reorganized and restructured its landcover data library in conjunction with centralizing all enterprise raster data. New and migrated landcover and other raster data is being stored in \\gisdw\kclib\plibrary3 under a common suite of tiling schemes and with a consistent naming convention.
