The KCGIS Center in coordination with Public Health of Seattle and King County, KC Parks and the cities of Burien, Renton, Sea Tac, and Tukwila have produced a map/guide to promote recreational activities within this region of the county. KCGIS Center cartographers worked closely with parks staff to gather information on parks, trails, bike lanes, play grounds and community centers. The guide side of the page displays information from each city plus an amenities chart for selected parks or trails

Cougar
Mountain Regional Wildland Park, which borders
on the cities of Issaquah, Newcastle, and
Bellevue, contains more than thirty-five
miles of wooded hiking trails, including
twelve miles of trails that are also open
to equestrians. This map depicts the entire
Cougar Mountain Park trail system, including
trailheads, 10-foot contour lines, spot elevations,
and many other park features. A shaded-relief
base map image further enhances the utility
and appearance of the map for the park user.
The map was produced by the King
County Parks and Recreation Division GIS
and the Client Services group of the King
County GIS Center as part of a two-sided
map brochure with photographs and text information
about the park.

This map brochure helps residents and
visitors explore and navigate in and around
Seattle's University District
and nearby neighborhoods, including
north Capitol Hill, while leaving
their cars at home. The maps
feature public transportation
as well as bicycling and pedestrian
amenities. Numerous
neighborhood features and attractions
are also depicted, such as parks
and playgrounds, markets,
theaters, libraries, and much
more.
The
map brochure was developed and published
by a partnership of King
County Metro Transit and the University
of Washington Transportation Office.
King
County GIS Center Client Services consulted
on design and created the finished
map artwork with Metro
staff.

The King County Fairgrounds
is home to the annual King County Fair in
mid-July, and hundreds of other special events
throughout the year. This site map
details the facilities available at the
fairgrounds as well as the adjacent Enumclaw
Park. Aerial photo inset maps show the nearby
Enumclaw Golf Course and Mount Peak Park,
which boasts a mile-long hiking trail up
to its 1,835-foot summit and viewpoint.
The map was produced by the King
County Parks and Recreation Division GIS
and the Client Services group of the King
County GIS Center as part of a two-sided
map brochure with photographs and text information
about the fairgrounds and nearby park properties.

map is part of a
comprehensive guide to the more than
thirty parks and related features within
the Kirkland city limits. In
addition to the park locations, the map
illustrates the citywide street network,
relative traffic volumes for arterial streets,
on-street bicycle lanes, walkways, the locations
of public art installations, and the locations
of numerous public facilities, such as schools,
post offices, fire stations, and Park & Ride
lots. All of this is mapped against a highly
detailed shaded relief background.
The
King County GIS Center created the map in
consultation with the City of Kirkland's
Parks, GIS, Public Works, and MultiMedia
Services staff. The GIS Center thanks the
City of Kirkland for permission to post the
map here in the Virtual Map Counter. The

The thirty developed and semi-developed parks,
and numerous recreation and other community features in the City of Mercer
Island are represented on this large-format map sheet. Highly detailed
aerial photo map insets orient map readers to Luther Burbank Park, Mercerdale
Park, and the Park on the Lid over Interstate 90. On the reverse side
of the map the guide includes a matrix of park facilities, a calendar
of the city's annual special events and community programs, a public art
index, and other recreational and civic information.
The
King County GIS Center created the Park
System Guide with the City of Mercer Island
Parks and Recreation Department and the City
of Mercer Island Geographic Information
System. The KCGIS Center thanks the City
of Mercer Island for permission to post the

| This recreation map and guide was created to promote outdoor opportunities available on Vashon-Maury Island. The map includes topographic detail to help users see the bluffs and stream systems in the area, while the guide includes a recreation chart for parks and facilities, photographs for a number of sites and descriptive text for things to see and do.
The project was commissioned by the Vashon Park District and Vashon-Maury Island Land Trust. The map/guide is a joint production of the KCGIS Center, who created the map, and King County Parks, who provided the graphic design and recreation chart for the guide .
