Seattle HIV/AIDS Planning Council
Committees

A variety of standing and ad hoc committees develop work products for the Council. Their meetings are open to the public.

Executive Committee
Comprised of the four Council co-chairs and the co-chairs of other Council committees, the Executive Committee sets Council meeting agendas, reviews and replies to correspondence, provides advocacy, and determines the disposition of issues on which the bylaws are silent. This committee usually meets on the fourth Monday of the month at 3:00 pm at Safeco Jackson Street Center.

Membership Committee
Comprised of Council members, this Membership Committee creates membership recruitment goals, reviews Council applications, interviews candidates, and brings candidates to the Council for approval. This committee usually meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 12:30 pm at the 2100 Building.

Advocacy, Awareness, Competency & Training Committee
This committee promotes awareness, and advocates to increase the Council’s competence regarding the different needs of people living with HIV and those at risk for the disease. This committee usually meets on the third Monday of the month at 4:00 pm at Safeco Jackson Street Center.

Prioritization Committees
The Council develops biennial prioritization and allocation plans for care and prevention. Care plans are developed in even numbered years and prevention plans are developed in odd numbered years. To develop these plans, the Council forms Ad Hoc prioritization committees which meet for approximately 40 hours of meetings over a three month period. Meeting dates and locations vary.
