Tires are not considered hazardous waste and are not accepted at the hazardous waste drop off sites. Instead, take them to your nearest Transfer Station:

• King County Solid Waste Disposal Stations

• Tire Dealers: Most tire dealers will take their customers' old tires only when they purchase new ones:

Phelp's Tire Co. -- 2520 Airport Way S., Seattle (206) 622-8977, $3.50-8.50 per tire, depending upon size. Accepts passenger and truck tires. Rims OK, but an extra fee of $3.50 charged.

Schuyler Manufacturing -- 6901 Woodinville Redmond Rd., Woodinville, (425) 488-2255. Truck tires only, No passenger tires. $1.50 each. Call for size requirements. Will pick up large loads and accepts large quantities.
