» PERSONAL HEALTH SERVICES:
- Adolescent Clinic
Physical examinations, immunizations, illness care and walk-in family planning services. Call for same day/next day appointments. Medical and dental care for children from birth to 18 years, including immunizations.
- Adult and Child Immunizations
- Application Workers
Public Health Application Workers can assist you over the phone or in person with filling out a medical application or a form.
- Child Health Clinic
Physical examinations, immunizations, illness care. Medical and dental care (available at limited sites only) for children from birth to 20 years, including immunizations.
- Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN)
Provides linkage and coordination of services to all children with special needs and provides limited direct medical services, equipment and supplies to those families that meet financial and other program eligibility requirements.
- Dental Clinic
Serves clients from age 0 to 18 years old, adults over 65 years old, pregnant women and adults of any age who meet certain criteria.

- Downtown Family Medicine (DFM)
Residents and faculty from Swedish Family Practice Residency program and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners provide primary health care for adults and families at Downtown Public Health Center.
- Family Planning and STD Services
Family planning services and education and reproductive health care includes HIV and STD screening, pregnancy tests, birth control and referrals. Call the Downtown Seattle Family Planning Clinic at 206-296-4960 for questions.
- HIV Screening
Basic evaluation of risk factors, client education on risk reduction and blood testing to check for HIV (virus that causes AIDS).
Call 206-205-7837 for risk assessment and referral.
- Home Visits
Public Health Nurse visits are available to pregnant women, mothers with new babies and young children and families with health or parenting concerns. Services include health assessment, education and counseling and referral.
- Interpreter Services
Interpreter services are available to limited or non-English speaking clients by appointment for public health services.
- Infant Case Management/Maternity Support Services
Provides initial maternity screening and referral with medical care, education, counseling, nutrition, transportation, assistance with medical coupons and child care vouchers.
- Maternal and Infant Services
Prenatal medical care by a physician, Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Midwife (services at each Public Health Center vary, call Columbia Health Center to inquire about this particular service.)
- OB Clinic and services screening
- Pregnancy Tests
- Refugee Screening
Provides health screening and interpretation for newly arrived refugees.
- Teen Health
Provide education and services for pregnancy prevention and for pregnant, parenting teens, and at-risk teens.
- Travel Clinic
Traveling outside the country? Downtown Public Health Center maintains a Travel Clinic to ensure you get the shots you need for your travel itinerary. Make an appointment to be seen by a Public Health Nurse by calling (206) 296-4960.
