Thursday, September 25, 2003

KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON - The King County Children and Family Commission is accepting applications for five positions. The 17-member Commission is composed of citizen volunteers that represent geographic and ethnic diversity reflective of King County. Currently, the Commission is targeting recruitment for representation in south King County, youth and persons of color. Members are appointed by the King County Executive and confirmed by the Metropolitan King County Council.

The King County Children and Family Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the county executive and county council. The Commission works to build partnerships among families, community-based organizations, school, business, private foundations, local governments and county services in order to make King County a place where families and communities support the healthy development of children.

The deadline for applying is October 24, 2003. To obtain an application or for additional information, contact Carol Maurer, King County Children and Family Commission at carol.maurer@metrokc.gov or 206-296-5219.
