Appreciation: Margi Powers
Board Member Kathy Lambert will present a recognition to Margi Powers, an employee of Salish Lodge who has used the Heimlich maneuver to assist several diners over the past few years.

Briefing: Injury and Violence Prevention
Tony Gomez, Manager of Injury and Violence Prevention, will present updated information on two subjects related to traffic safety: the designated driver project; and leading causes of all traffic crashes and death crashes. Mr. Gomez will also present information from the recently released Washington State Childhood Injury Report, including data on causes and prevention of child injuries.

Briefing: Immunization Program
David Bibus, MPH, Health Services Administrator, and Jeff Duchin, MD, Section Chief and Disease Control Officer, will brief the board on strategies to improve child immunization status in King County

Briefing: Governor’s Budget
Tom Bristow, lobbyist for the King County Council, will join the Board to facilitate this discussion.

Discussion: Seattle City Council / King County Council Walking Challenge
James Apa, Communications Manager, will brief the Board on the walking challenge planned to celebrate Public Health Week

The King County Board of Health sets county-wide public health policy, enacts and enforces local public health regulations, and carries out other duties of local boards of health specified in state law. These duties include enforcing state public health statutes, preventing and controlling the spread of infectious disease, abating nuisances, and establishing fee schedules for licenses, permits and other services.
