King County Board of Health meeting on September 15, 2006

KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON - The King County Board of Health will hold its next meeting on Friday, September 15, 2006, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The meeting will be held at:

King County Council Chambers
10th Floor, King County Courthouse
516 3rd Avenue, Seattle

Agenda

1. Call to order

2. Announcement of any alternates serving in place of regular members

3. Approval of Minutes of July 14, 2006 and July 25, 2006 meetings (Action Item)

4. General Public Comments

5. Chair's Report

6. Board Members' Updates

7. Director's Report

8. Administrator's Report

9. Health Code Merger Process
Amy Eiden, King County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, will brief the Board on the process to update the Code of the King County Board of Health, including work to incorporate the relevant health codes from the Seattle Municipal Code.

10. Public Health Operational Master Plan (PHOMP) Update
Toni Rezab, Project Manager, PHOMP will provide a briefing on the recent PHOMP Steering Committee Meetings.

11. Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)
Matthew Golden, MD, MPH, Director, Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic and Jeff Duchin, MD, Chief, Communicable Disease Control, Epidemiology & Immunization Section will discuss the epidemiology of the Human Papilloma Virus and the policy implications of the new vaccine to prevent infection.

12. Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
Tom Hearne, Division Director, will provide a presentation that will focus on two areas: 1) the current EMS Strategic Plan and the regional success achieved by EMS’s programs and Strategic Initiatives and 2) the process and schedule for the next EMS levy (2008 and beyond) including an overview of the planning process, participants, timeline, and recommendations in each program area.
