Health Advisory: Tamiflu (Oseltamivir) Supply

With continued high levels of influenza activity in the community and a heightened level of awareness and concern regarding influenza related illness, the demand for Tamiflu treatment may increase. Health care providers should consider reserving pediatric Tamiflu suspension for high-risk children. If the demand for pediatric suspension exceeds your supply, healthcare providers, hospitals and pharmacies should be aware that in an emergency, Tamiflu capsules may be used to create a suspension for pediatric use.

Information on Emergency Compounding of Tamiflu Capsules for Oral Suspension can be found on page 17 of the following PDF file of the package: http://www.rocheusa.com/products/tamiflu/pi.pdf
