WORK LOCATIONS: Various parks and facilities maintained throughout King County. Please see Worksite Preference Form for available locations.
WORK SCHEDULE: This position works up to forty hours per week; various shifts available. Shifts may include weekends and evenings. Parks’ season typically runs from March 1 – October 15.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES INCLUDE: Provide a clean and safe park environment for visitors by being responsible for maintenance work in assigned County park areas involving grounds, facilities, athletic fields and supportive equipment operation. Work will be performed outdoors and in inclement weather. Punctuality and regular attendance are required in this position in order to provide dependable service to the public.

Thank you for your interest in the Seasonal Parks Maintenance Worker position. The salary wage starts at $12.60 per hour (2007 rates). The position requires the ability to perform duties involving physical labor including bending, kneeling, standing, reaching, climbing, stooping, squatting, pushing, twisting and repetitively lifting up to 50 lbs. The Parks season generally runs from March to October.

We have various worksites and duties available throughout King County. Please indicate (in the box to the left of the work site) your preferred work location in either a Park Maintenance District or a Natural Resource Area by ranking (1,2,3…) There is no guarantee of preferred work location.

King County has 235 parks and natural resource lands. Operation hours are from 5:30 a.m. to midnight, Sunday through Saturday. If you are hired by King County as a Temporary Parks Employee, your schedule will be provided. There is no guarantee of preferred location.
