Class
Several training classes are available to help you be a more effective
Employee Transportation Coordinator. These sessions are provided by your
jurisdiction and are no cost to your employer. Check this training page
regularly for upcoming classes. Class size is limited, so make sure you
register.
Basic Training Part 1: ETC Orientation to the
CTR Law Get Your CTR Program off to the right
start. Come to this half-day class and find out:
- What is the CTR Law and why was it passed?
- What does it require of employers?
- What are the goals of the law?
- What constitutes a violation of the law?
- What is an "ETC" and what is expected of that
person?
- What can employers do to encourage non drive-alone commuting amongst
employees?

Basic Training Part 2: How to Promote &
Implement Your CTR Program CTR is more than just
meeting the basic requirements. To make your program successful you need
to promote it to your employees. This workshop will provide you with:
- An opportunity to exchange ideas with other ETCs about what really works;
- Problem solving techniques for getting and keeping your CTR program up and running;
- An overview of offering commute subsidies to employees, including a look at various bus passes and the tax implications of providing commute subsidies to employees.
- A look at the internet tools available to help you and your employees with their commute;
- Ideas for contests, competitions, awards and rewards as well as posters to help promote your program;
- An overview of reporting requirements and procedures.

Survey Briefing Survey briefings for your jurisdiction are offered
each survey year. The briefing will give you valuable information about
your survey requirements, your survey timeline and great tips for
conducting a successful survey. You'll also learn about who to survey, how
the results are calculated and how it is determined if you achieved your
CTR goals.

Producing Your CTR Program Summary
Brochure
You are required to provide
information at least once each year to your employee (for TMP sites: your
site occupants) about your commuter program and about their commute
options. This workshop can help!
You'll brush up on your computer skills as you learn how to write,
design and produce your CTR Program Summary brochure in Word for Windows.
You'll leave class with your brochure written and designed and the
original template on disk.
