Pioneer Square Station:
The Pioneering Spirit

Pioneer Square Station With a vaulted ceiling and extensive use of red-and-gray granite, the station reflects the character of historic pioneer Square. This station is located in Seattle's government center and within blocks of historic Pioneer Square. It includes entrances at the Public Safety and Lyon buildings and an entrance next to Prefontaine Place Park.

Colored granite and ornate cast-iron gates capture the spirit of the city's historic district. The station architecture also includes large clocks at either end of the station's mezzanines. These clocks were made from construction tools, left-over construction materials and metal and stone artifacts found during station excavation.
