About the intersection
East Valley Highway at S.W. 43rd St. is located within the City of Renton just west of SR-167. S.W. 43rd St. is an east-west principal arterial and part of the Trans-Valley Corridor, connecting the large commercial businesses and Green Valley industrial area to the west with Valley Freeway (SR-167), Valley Medical Center, and S.E. Carr Road in unincorporated King County east of the intersection.* East Valley Highway is a north-south corridor that connects the City of Renton in the north and the city of Kent in the south. It provides access to the Kent Valley residents in the south of the intersection, and connects up to Lind Ave. S.W. business parks, and Grady Way north of the intersection.

*North of this corridor are the city limits of Renton and south of this corridor are the city limits of Kent. Both cities have different methodologies for street naming: the City of Renton names this corridor S.W. 43rd St., and the City of Kent names it S.E. 180th St. The County will refer to its names depending on location and direction.
