Release date: Feb. 16, 2000

Vashon traffic advisory

A section of Vashon Highway about a quarter mile south of Southwest Bank Road will be reduced to one lane of traffic during non-commute hours on Thursday, February 24th and Friday, February 25th so crews can trim several trees on the east side of the road.

The Road Services Division plans to trim dead branches from approximately 16 black locust trees along the roadway to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians. More aggressive trimming may be necessary to remove large dead limbs overhanging the road and shoulder.

Motorists may encounter minor traffic slowdowns while the work is being performed. Crews will work as quickly as possible in an effort to minimize traffic disruptions.
