News ReleaseRelease date: November 13, 2000 Pedestrian safety workshop Thursday for Juanita-Woodinville Way N.E. north of KirklandCommunity Advisory Group to be recruited (updated Nov. 17, 2000) As part of its Neighborhood Enhancement Program, the King County Road Services Division is holding a community workshop on pedestrian and traffic safety in the unincorporated area of Juanita-Woodinville Way Northeast north of Kirkland. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000
7-9 p.m. Roads staff will be present to hear which pedestrian, bicycle and traffic safety improvements are most important to residents. King County also will be recruiting volunteers to serve on a new Community Advisory Group for this project. In response to community concerns about safety in the vicinity of Juanita-Woodinville Way Northeast, the county has lowered the speed limit to 35 mph, and recently added other safety features. The workshop and formation of an advisory group will help determine additional improvements that might be made to improve traffic and pedestrian safety in the area. Following the workshop, the county and advisory group will review potential improvements that have been identified by the community. Specific recommended improvements will then be developed and shared with residents at a future open house meeting. For more information about the workshop, contact Barbara de Michele, community relations: (206) 263-3792 or barbara.demichele@metrokc.gov. ### |
