Public invited to discuss traffic safety improvements at key South County intersection

Residents and business operators are invited to discuss with King County representatives needed traffic and safety improvements at the intersection of two key arterials in South King County. The intersection of Benson Road Southeast (State Route 515) and Carr Road Southeast (Petrovitsky Road) is a frequent chokepoint for traffic in the area.

The King County Road Services Division will hold an open house in Renton to discuss possible improvements including traffic signal revisions and additional turning lanes. The open house will be held:

Tuesday, May 23rd
6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
King of Kings Lutheran Church
18207 108th Ave. S.E., Renton

At the open house residents in the area can identify any concerns they may have such as safety, traffic, right-of-way, or the environment. This project will enhance safety for vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists traveling in the vicinity of the Benson and Carr Roads intersection. King County will use the designs that are eventually developed to seek partners for construction funding.

For more information about the open house, please contact Mary Bass by e-mail at mary.bass@metrokc.gov or by telephone at (206) 263-5259.
