Metro to provide shuttle service
to Folklife Festival

Metro Transit is providing special shuttle service for the Northwest Folklife Festival from both Northgate and downtown Seattle during the Memorial Day weekend, May 26-28, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day.

The Northgate shuttle will operate Saturday, Sunday and Monday of Memorial Day weekend connecting the Northgate park-and-ride lot at Northeast 112th Street and Fifth Avenue Northeast; the Northgate Transit Center at First Avenue Northeast and Northeast 103rd Street; and the Seattle Center on Mercer Street.

Headed toward Seattle Center, the Northgate Shuttle makes all posted stops along the route. Passengers can board the shuttle at any posted bus stop along its route. The trip from the Northgate P&R to Seattle Center is 25 minutes.

Return trips, signed "To Northgate Shuttle," leave the Seattle Center eastbound on Mercer Street at Third Avenue North. Be sure to check the sign on the bus.

Shuttles operate about every 20 minutes until the last bus leaves Mercer Street at Seattle Center Playhouse at 11 p.m. The bus returns to the Northgate P&R via Aurora Avenue, Northgate Way, the Northgate Transit Center and Fifth Avenue Northeast, dropping off passengers by request at any posted bus stop along the route.

Besides all regularly scheduled service on First, Third and Fourth avenues, Metro Transit will operate another shuttle to and from the Seattle Center via the Pike Place Market and First Avenue.

Headed toward Seattle Center, the "Seattle Center Shuttle" makes all posted stops along the route. Return trips, signed "To Downtown Shuttle," leave the Seattle Center eastbound on Mercer Street, just east of Third Avenue North. Be sure to check the sign on the bus.

Shuttles operate about every 20 minutes until 11 p.m. The bus returns to downtown Seattle along Mercer Street, Fiftth Avenue North, Cedar Street and Second Avenue to Marion Street, dropping off passengers by request at any posted bus stop along the route.

On both shuttles, regular $1 (one-way) cash fares apply. All valid passes and transfers are accepted. Transfers and $2 All-Day Passes will be issued on request. Family Fares are available on Sunday and Monday.

This schedule is the same all three days. There is no special shuttle service on Friday, May 25. Please use regularly scheduled transit service on that day.

On Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, Metro operates a Sunday schedule. Please check the Sunday timetable for your regular bus route for complete Holiday service information.

Metro provides regular bus service to the Seattle Center on the following routes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 13, 15, 16, 18, 24 and 33.
