Orillia Road South opens ahead of schedule July 17

The King County Road Services Division will reopen a reconstructed half-mile stretch of Orillia Road South near Kent 12 days ahead of schedule.

The road will reopen to traffic at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 17.

The roadway has been undergoing a major rehabilitation between South 200th Street and 42nd Avenue South since June 4.

During construction, crews completely rebuilt the four-lane roadway and installed a new underground drainage system at a cost of $1 million. The project was undertaken to correct severe deterioration that has occurred along Orillia Road South over the years. The project also improves safety along the busy roadway.
