Kick off the Husky football season with Metro

This Saturday, Metro Transit buses will be loaded with purple-and-gold wearing fans headed for the first football game of the season at the University of Washington.

Once again, Metro will be offering a variety of service to get those fans to the game, and then home again. And, the ride is free when you show your game ticket or ticket stub to the bus driver.

Over the past few years, an increasing number of UW fans have found Metro’s regular routes and special service from outlying Park and Ride lots to be the easy way to go to Husky Stadium. During the 2000 championship football season, more than 177,000 Husky fans rode one of Metro’s regular routes to the stadium, or used the special service from outlying Park & Ride lots.

This year, football fans can:

  • Travel on one of 11 regular routes that stop near Husky Stadium;
  • Catch a special game-day bus from Park & Ride lots in Kenmore, Shoreline, Northgate, Houghton, South Kirkland, Eastgate, Federal Way or South Renton;
  • Ride a "Husky Special" from downtown Seattle, Capitol Hill, Ballard or Lake City.

For the latest information on Husky Stadium service, check out Metro Online or call Metro Rider Information at (206) 553-3000.
