Public input sought on express bus ideas
for SR-522 corridor

King County Metro Transit and Sound Transit want to hear from the public about the best ways to serve north King County with express bus service.

The two transit agencies will be hosting a series of community meetings to discuss proposals for express service along the State Route 522 corridor between Woodinville and Seattle.

Those meetings will be held:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 7-9 p.m. at Woodinville City Hall, 17301 133rd Ave. N.E., Woodinville
  • Thursday, Nov. 1, from 7-9 p.m. at the Bothell campus of the University of Washington, Building UW-2, Room 003, 18115 Campus Way N.E., Bothell
  • Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 7-9 p.m. at the Lake City Elks Lodge, 14540 Bothell Way N.E., Lake Forest Park.

The proposal involves operating a new ST Express regional bus route along SR-522, Woodinville Way, Bothell Way and Lake City Way. The express bus would have limited stops and operate all day, seven days a week, in both directions. It would begin in September 2002.

In conjunction with the new route, Metro Transit is considering adjusting service on its routes in that area, such as routes 41, 307, 308 and 372. Metro's goal is to provide the highest levels of service, while reducing duplicate service.

Both transit agencies are seeking public comments and questionnaire responses to develop into a recommendation for service changes along SR-522. You can find the online version of the questionnaire here.

If you have questions or need accommodations to attend the public meeting, please call Patrick Duhon at (206) 263-3424, or e-mail him at patrick.duhon@metrokc.gov.
