Help plan transit service for Federal Way
and northeast Tacoma

King County Metro Transit is looking for people to share and review ideas on how to improve transit service in Federal Way and northeast Tacoma.

Metro is seeking approximately 15 transit riders and community members to serve on its Federal Way/NE Tacoma Sounding Board. The sounding board will begin meeting in mid-November, and hold six meetings over four months. Sounding board members are also expected to attend two community workshops.

Board members will help transit planners from Metro and Pierce Transit develop ideas for improving bus service. Goals include: enhancing inter-county bus connections; providing local service along Southwest 356th Street; and increasing usage of the Twin Lakes Park and Ride.

Anyone who lives, works or uses transit in this geographic area is eligible to submit an application to serve on the sounding board. The application deadline is Monday, Oct. 28.

For more information or an application, contact Patrick Duhon, KCDOT community relations, at 206-263-3424 (voice), 206-684-1682 (TTY) or by email at patrick.duhon@metrokc.gov.
