Expect delays at Cedar Mountain Bridge
on Saturday, Dec. 7
Motorists using the Cedar Mountain Bridge on Saturday, December 7
should expect lengthy delays, as crews install new bridge girders.
The bridge will be closed to traffic intermittently from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Motorists should avoid the area during the closure, and can use the Elliott
Bridge crossing.
The King County Road Services Division is currently in the middle of a
project to replace the bridge that spans the Cedar River southeast of Renton.
During the 18-month project, the county is removing the 52-year-old bridge
located just east of State Route 169 at Southeast Jones Road/196th
Avenue Southeast and replacing it with a precast concrete bridge.
Motorists should avoid the area during the closure, and can use the Elliott
Bridge crossing at 149th Avenue Southeast as an alternate route.
There is currently a weight limit on the Elliott Bridge. For large vehicles and
trucks that are over the posted load and 14-foot height limits of Elliott
Bridge, access to Southeast Jones Road should be made by alternate routes. If
there are questions about requesting a permit to cross Elliott Bridge please
visit the county's
load
limited bridges web page.

Bridge replacement project visit the project website.
