County Council honors Metro Transit

The Metropolitan King County Council honored Metro Transit today for 30 years of service to the residents of the King County today at the Committee-of-the-Whole meeting.

The council thanked Metro employees for their hard work, innovation and transit industry leadership.

Councilmember Dwight Pelz, the chair of the council's Transportation Committee, delivered the recognition to Metro on behalf of the entire council.

"...we, the Metropolitan King County Council recognize KING COUNTY METRO TRANSIT for 30 years of outstanding service to the citizens of this and surrounding counties. We thank the visionary leaders who 30 years ago went to the ballot box to establish Metro Transit, and all the Metro employees who have expanded the system into what it is today."
