News from King County Department of Transportation
METRO SERVICE ALERT Bus travel slowed by snow Tuesday morning King County Metro Transit is advising passengers that many of its buses in East King County, areas north of Seattle, and on the Queen Anne Hill are on snow routing Tuesday morning, Jan. 15. Snowy, icy roads are slowing bus travel in these areas. As of 5 a.m. Tuesday, the Issaquah Highlands Park-and-Ride is being served by a smaller shuttle bus that will take passengers to the lower-elevation Issaquah Park-and-Ride, where they can board larger buses for their commute. Metro is currently not traveling through the Bellevue Community College Campus, but is stopping at major roads outside the campus. There are also shuttles running on the east side of Queen Anne Hill in Seattle. These conditions could change as the morning goes on. If travel in your area is impacted by snow and ice, or is in hilly areas, see Metro Online or check paper timetables for pre-established snow routing for specific bus routes. Board buses on flat portions of arterial roads, at park-and-ride lots and transit centers, or other major transfer points. Passengers are reminded to wait for their bus at the top or the bottom of steep hills, dress warmly for the wait, and be patient. Use your bus route's regularly posted schedule to plan your travel, but be sure to allow plenty of time for your trip and be prepared for possible delays. Metro appreciates your patience when weather conditions make travel difficult.
