Inside Transportation for June 2004

Inside Transportation is a half-hour program designed to help you understand how the King County Department of Transportation serves the public and how to take advantage of the transportation options available to you.  It is a presentation of the King County Department of Transportation Public Affairs Unit. "Inside Transportation" airs on King County Civic Television (CTV) Tuesday nights at 5 p.m., Wednesday mornings at 5 a.m., and various other times during the week.

Bridging the gap - It took a carefully choreographed effort to move these 105-ton concrete bridge girders into place over the Sammamish River Trail and keep traffic moving on NE 124th Street near Redmond at the same time. See the event unfold and find out what’s next for this project.

On the edge - The bridge is closed, but vehicle traffic continues to cross. Find out how construction crews are doing both at the same time as they remove the old Edgewick Bridge and lay the foundation for a new, bigger and stronger bridge that will blend into the areas rural atmosphere.

Photo:  Boeing Field -1928 Going, going, gone - King County’s Fleet Administration Division holds a monthly auction to sell surplus and obsolete equipment to the general public. There’s also a twice yearly auto and heavy equipment auction. It’s not only a great deal for bargain shoppers, the auction program brings more than a million dollars a year back to King County.

  • Comcast Cable Services — Channel 22 in most areas of King County
  • Millennium Digital Media — Channel 72 or 80 in downtown Seattle and lower Queen Anne.
