Bikes and buses
– Now that the weather is warming up, we see more bicycle
riders in King County commuting to work. Some use the bus for part of their
commute, and many have to share the road with buses, especially in the busy
downtown areas. With that in mind Metro Transit has produced a new video
that emphasizes bus and bicycle safety.

Great blue herons
– They’re not as famous as the swallows who return to San Juan Capistrano
year after year, but the great blue herons are back in Kenmore, and thanks to a
joint effort by Metro Transit, the City of Kenmore and the Washington State
Department of Fish and Wildlife, you can see the herons better than ever.

NE 124th Street
– King County Road Services has been making improvements on Northeast
124th Street for more than six years, and the project is now 95 percent complete
with all lanes open from 132nd Avenue Northeast to State Route 202. Its been a
complicated project, because of environmental challenges and the road has had to
stay open during construction. |

Bus shelters –
Who hasn’t been thankful on a rainy or windy day for a bus shelter to stand
under while waiting for your bus? Well bus shelters have come a long way in
