Inside Transportation for Sept.-Oct. 2005  

Inside Transportation is a half-hour program designed to help you understand how the King County Department of Transportation serves the public and how to take advantage of the transportation options available to you.  It is a presentation of the King County Department of Transportation Public Affairs Unit. "Inside Transportation" airs on King County Civic Television (KCTV) Tuesday nights at 5 p.m., Wednesday nights at 7 p.m., and various other times during the week.

Downtown Buses Metro Transit and its partners have made many changes to bus stops and routes on surface streets in downtown Seattle because of the Sept. 24th transit tunnel closure.  Metro experts offer tips and information for riders adapting to the changes.

New Elliott Bridge – The King County Road Services Division has officially opened the new Elliott Bridge near Renton. Find out what makes it a bigger, stronger and safer bridge, as well as what happens to the old Elliott Bridge.  Bridge experts also discuss the status of other bridge projects in the county.

Photo: Blue Angels flight simulation Blue Angels at KCIA – When the United States Navy's Blue Angels precision flying team visits the Seattle area, they always make King County International Airport their home base.  This year the Blue Angels brought along their newest flight simulator and gave flight enthusiasts at the airport a sneak preview before the start of Seafair festivities.   
 

All electric trolley buses  – Instead of retiring a generation of dual powered diesel-electric buses, Metro mechanics are converting the buses to electric power only and adding years to their life as trolley buses in the downtown Seattle area.
