Transit Now This months show examines the proposal made by King County Executive Ron Sims to fund new service for Metro Transit. The proposal is tied to a one-tenth of one-percent increase in the sales tax in King County and will be decided by the voters.

 .

RapidRide  – Part of the Transit Now proposal is the creation of "Bus Rapid Transit," (BRT) with frequent, all day service along five heavily traveled corridors in King County.

Improve current service – Another key element of the Transit Now proposal is the enhancement of 35 major Metro routes with the highest rider ship, providing more frequent two-way, all-day service between key cities and neighborhoods.

What's next? – DOT Director Harold Taniguchi and Metro Transit General Manager Kevin Desmond explain what happens next to the Transit Now proposal and the steps it must take to make it on the ballot and be voted on later this year.
