Photo: County crews pick up debris from December's windstorm

The long cleanup - In mid-February, King County crews are still picking up debris from the fierce windstorms that knocked out power to over a million King County residents in mid-December.  The storms broke the wind gust record at Sea-Tac, recording a gust of 69 miles per hour.

First Pieces of Transit Now - More transit service is what King County voters demanded at the ballot boxes in November.  'Transit Now' passed with a 57% positive vote and the added service it promises is already going into effect county-wide.

Bus-bike connection is getting easier - King County Metro has always been committed to assisting cyclists with their commutes having had bike racks on coaches for over 30 years.  Now a federal grant has provided new bike racks that will expand capacity and reduce wait times.

The end of an era - The Mt. Si Bridge in North Bend has seen much since King County constructed it in 1914.  Mt. Si is slated for replacement in 2008, and the county is looking for a new owner for this historic landmark.
