Green Festival 2008 - It was the greenest weekend thus far in 2008. The Green Festival made it's first-ever trip to Seattle, and King County DOT was a proud co-sponsor of the event helping county residents learn how to 'green up' their homes and commutes.

'Green' bulbs - They aren't literally, but figuratively green. The King County Road Services Division's headquarters in Renton recently retrofitted every light bulb in 10 of the buildings at the facility. Consequently, the projected energy use will be cut by more than half in 2008.

Spring building - With spring on the way, the King County Road Services Division is gearing up for building season. From new ITS projects, and short span bridge replacements to a special project that will make White Center a little more walkable, it will be a busy spring for Roads crews.

KCIA cargo: A mysterious medley - It could be a medical specimen for which a patient is waiting on the operating table. It could be wolves. It could be a Super Bowl commercial. These are all things Ameriflight has flown to or from King County International Airport. It's how the airport helps keep the northwest economy moving.

Metro's finest - In this case, the old cliché rings true. King County Sheriff Sue Rahr recently honored two current and one former Metro deputy for their bravery and hard work, even bestowing the highest honor her office gives out to one of them.

Metro Route 308: Love bus - At least for one afternoon it was. Troy Kleweno and Christie Hsieh rode Metro Route 308 for six months before Troy could muster the courage to say hello. See how 'bus girl' agreed to become his 'bus wife'.
