Tune in at various times
throughout the week for a new half-hour program on King County Civic Television that is designed to help you understand and better use the transportation options available to
you.
"Inside Transportation" is hosted by Heather Follings of Metro Transit's Commute Trip Reduction office. Guests on the premiere episode are:
- Maria Van Horn from Road Services and
Road Use Investigator Kerry Taniguchi, talking about the "Walk Smart" child pedestrian safety campaign. They offer tips to parents on teaching their kids to
stop, look and listen for traffic; not dart from between parked cars;
and how to make them more visible to traffic through the use of
reflective tape and stickers on clothes and backpacks.
- Metro Transit General Manager Rick Walsh and Betty Gulledge-Bennett,
KCDOT community relations supervisor, on what it takes to change bus
routes and schedules. Walsh also talks about the expansion of bus
service, especially on the Eastside, that was implemented in the most
recent service change in September.
- Steve Johnston, King County's "Gee-Man" and
former Seattle Times columnist, on access to transportation services by
people with disabilities. His most recent column can be
read here.
The show airs at various
unscheduled times during the week. You can
request that it be shown for you by contacting
