person viewing computer screen

Look for this RPIN eNews logo on government and news media Web sites to get the latest official information during floods, adverse winter weather, or other regional emergencies year-round.

Now you can be alerted instantly, through e-mail and pagers, when any one of 37 local government agencies and organizations throughout central Puget Sound is responding to a broad range of service disruptions, incidents or emergencies.

Introducing RPIN eNews, short for Regional Public Information Network.  Subscribers to the free service have the option of receiving either "breaking news" announcements or "transportation alerts" issued by road and transit agencies.

RPIN eNews will make it easier for you to instantly receive critical information on a variety of topics such as snow, flooding, transportation disruptions, health or public safety concerns and any other situation you may need to know about.

By logging into our Web site at GOVLINK.org you can also track the latest information being posted by participating RPIN partners, and access a comprehensive list of links to information about traffic conditions, transit service, flooding, coping with power disruptions, and preparing for emergencies.

Representatives from King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties were joined by the Washington State Department of Transportation and National Weather Service this week to announce the launch of RPIN eNews and the fifth annual "Taking Winter By Storm" campaign.

Agencies are also sponsoring a recorded information line, (206) 205-6700, that provides a variety of phone numbers residents can call to obtain information before and during bad weather. The agencies have also produced a new "Taking Winter by Storm" winter travel brochure that will feature maps detailing selected city, county and state priority snow routes.
