King County 1993 Road Standards

Also see: 2007 King County Road Design and Construction Standards

About

The 1993 King County Road Standards are intended to provide specific, consistent road design elements for developers and other private parties constructing or modifying road or right-of-way facilities which require County licenses or permits as well as for the County's own construction of new County roads or reconstruction of existing roads. The standards are intended to assist but not to substitute for competent work by design professionals. It is expected that land surveyors, engineers, and architects will bring to each project the best of skills from their respective disciplines.

The text of the Road Standards has been put on in several formats to maximize accessibility and utility. However the drawings are available only in CAD and PDF formats.

In addition to the 1993 King County Road Standards, there are other online engineering and planning resources which may be useful to those developing property in unincorporated King County.

Downloads

The 1993 King County Road Standards are made available below as partially-searchable Adobe Acrobat .pdf files. The .pdf files are only partially searchable due to use of an older font in a hard copy document that was scanned to make the standards available online. Future Road Standards documents will be made available as fully-searchable .pdfs.
